A Tomboy's Perspective on the Magical 5-Way Dress

Published June 28, 2011 by Rania Batrice

As recently as a year ago, you wouldn't have caught me dead in a dress, so for me to refer to a one as "magical" is a small miracle in and of itself.

I'm a tomboy, I played basketball from the age of 7 all the way through college, and I've spent the majority of my life in sweatpants, workout clothes, and my basketball uniform. Saying that I feel awkward and out of place in a dress is an understatement, but Abi Ferrin has changed all of that. Her signature 5-way dress is the stuff dreams are made of...comfortable, flattering, versatile, and for someone who spends a lot of time on the road, it travels better than any other garment I've ever owned (sans my sweatpants of course).

When I'm on a flight and have to go straight from plane to meeting, I wear my 5-way dress as a top with jeans and my TOMS that I change out for a cute pair of heals on arrival. It's the perfect business look that I need, AND I get away with wearing jeans! My day never ends at 5; there are always events, cocktail hours, dinners and more that require me to look like I didn't just get hit by a Mac truck. For those days, or as Abi likes to call it, the "desk to dinner" days, my 5-way dress gets me all the way through the night! I can wear it off the shoulder for a fun, fashionable event look, and then on one shoulder when my boyfriend wants to take me to a nice dinner at the end of a long day!

So to sum it all up...beautiful and casual, soft and sophisticated, bold and sexy...the sky truly is the limit, and this dress is for everyone, no matter what your fashionista IQ.
